RNLI Brighton Lifeboat was launched further to a report of 2 people drifting in a small inflatable dinghy, East of the Brighton Pier.
A 999 call had been received from a member of the public on the beach who had seen the inflatable drifting outside of the swimming buoys.
Arriving on scene it was established that the occupants were safe, well and unaware of any alarm they had caused.
Brighton Lifeboat assisted the vessel back to the beach and returned to station.
